Every writer’s dream is to successfully publish one’s work. Whether you’re working on fictional tales or non-fiction articles, it is important to know the process in getting that dream print. But first, you need to write your content. So how do you do it?
There’s no written formula about how you write your content. Don’t get too overwhelmed by the writing process. You just have to start! You set your pace.
1. WRITE ABOUT SOMETHING YOU LIKE
One common denominator among authors’ publishing success is they write about something they are interested in. You can’t write about a topic you’re not genuinely engaged in (unless it’s a job requirement!) Think about it as a dream project, an escape from the day-to-day normalcies, or a life-long goal. We’ve seen out-of-the-box ideas from budding young writers, and experience-based content from seasoned professionals who want to share their life’s passion.
With that said, there must be something you like to write about! Start with your hobbies, your interests, or perhaps your favorite genres. Brainstorm and write it all down.
2. BRAINSTORM YOUR IDEAS
Now that you’ve got some pretty topics to choose from, let’s get down to business! After choosing your topics, narrow them down to the best concepts. Time to ask yourself these questions.
WHAT IS YOUR BIG “WHY?”
Why are you writing this book?
– Is it a passion project?
– Is it a way for you to leverage your skills and credentials as a writer?
– Is it a business-related action plan to diversify income?
– Is it a life story you would like to share?
– Is it a big idea you would like everyone to hear about?
Surely, you have more reasons to write other than these! Knowing your BIG WHY helps you determine your course as you start writing your content. After knowing your “why,” you can create your own list and concept maps about the topic. Is it fiction or non-fiction? What aspects of the main topic would you like to include? Is it possible to have a plot overview? Then, you can write your topic or story outline.
Your Outline is the basic framework of your book or story. You arrange your thoughts according to what comes first, and properly sequence the ideas in a manner that sends your message clearly to your readers.
3. PICK UP A PEN AND START!
Easier said than done, right? But no worries, you have to consider yourself first before taking up the challenge!
Here are a few tips to encourage a healthy and consistent writing session:
• Set your schedule and pace. It’s important to stick to a writing schedule to condition your mind for writing.
• Write down your goals for the day, week, or month. Tick your goals and keep yourself in check!
• Create a conducive writing space free from distractions both physical and mental. Perhaps get the coffee machine and brew your favorite blends, or stash up on those fancy pens and sticky notes, a cozy pillow, yeah? Whatever makes you comfortable, just do it.
• Write what you have in mind. Let the creative juices flow! Worry about editing and revising later. Don’t worry about making mistakes in the process.
• Refresh your mind by taking breaks in between sessions.
4. FEEDBACK MATTERS
So you’ve finally written your book (yay!). You’re ready to get some feedback before you publish it. You can get some of your trusted friends to read it and ask for some constructive feedback. It always helps to let others read it to improve your work.
For basic editing, you can use some editing software you can download online for free or with paid membership. You can easily spot basic grammar errors and make editing faster and convenient.
For a more detailed editing, you can always hire a professional editor! Many editors offer different services like proofreading, copyediting, line editing, and developmental editing. This way, you can receive a more refined version of your manuscript and get objective feedback from experts in the field.
You can always rely on a professional editor to help you improve your work and make it ready for publishing! Most books in circulation, if not all, have been professionally edited. 5. PUBLISH YOUR WORK!
Whether you’re going for self-publishing or traditional publishing, it’s important to weigh in on the pros and cons of each type. For self-publishing, you can enjoy the freedom in publishing your work from choosing book titles, book cover designs, and book formats. Most self-publishing services have one-stop-shop packages where marketing and advertising are already included. For traditional publishing, you can expect a more rigorous process in getting your book meticulously evaluated by editors. But once you’re considered by big publishing houses, it can be a life-changer for you too.
This article just gives you a brief overview on how to write your content and finally publish your work. The process may take long – finding your motivations, brainstorming ideas, writing outlines and drafts, editing and revising, and publishing. Writing really isn’t a walk in the park. Good for some people who start writing books with a title in mind, well, a working title at least. Some writers actually begin with their titles, while others write their stories first then look for the appropriate title. Whichever is your preference, believe it or not, many writers still do get conscious about finding the perfect words to headline their books, so you’re basically not alone.
Your book title is your first impression. Readers will talk about your characters, the plot, the twists and the turns, the happy or tragic ending – but first, they will talk about your title. When you publish your book, your title becomes your forever brand. As New York Book Editors puts it: Your book’s title is the most important marketing strategy you have. It can make you, or break you. So how do you write a good book title?
We narrow it down to five basic terms: Simplicity, Appropriateness, Human Interest, Word Play, and Personal Experience.
You can never go wrong with simple words. Answer your readers’ basic question: What is your story all about?
Is it about a person? Go for your character’s name! A place? Write the setting or location where it happened. Going for a one-word title? You go write it down. Remember, simple is memorable; memorable is marketable.
Always connect the dots. You can’t write a title that’s not relevant to your story. It doesn’t have to be a total obvious give-away. You can experiment with titles that are subtle, but screams “Aha!” when your readers finally figure out why it’s worded that way, which leads us to the next term.
Why should your readers buy your book? What sets your book title apart from other titles on the shelf? Why is this the title of the book? You can spark your readers’ imagination by choosing words that are intriguing and unique. Your title will surely be a hit once you’ve hit the right strings that relate to human interest topics ( e.g. romance, sex, self-help, motivational, conflict).
Add a little flare to your title with imagery, poetic devices like rhythm and rhyme, or even figures of speech. The best titles are the ones with catchy word plays that engage your readers’ attention. Let your creative juices flow!
In the end, it’s always your call. Your book is your personal experience. You may have even decided your title long ago and it perfectly goes well with your story. But if you’re still confused, relax and take a deep breath. Don’t rush your work. Brainstorm your ideas and edit, edit, edit! Find your own words to fit your writing experience.
Writing the perfect title may seem difficult especially if you want your book to be a reflection of your best effort. After all, it’s your brand, your work of art, and we totally understand the pressure. TEPL may use third party web analytics services on the Sites, such as Google Analytics. Do Not Track Notice or Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” feature that allows you automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to websites and online services that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. TEPL does not respond to these “Do Not Track” signals. At this time, TEPL does not track information about your online activities over time and across third party websites. – Administer your participation in special events, contests, sweepstakes, surveys and other promotions;
– Perform audits regarding a current interaction with you and concurrent transactions, including, but not limited to, counting ad impressions to unique visitors, verifying positioning and quality of ad impressions, and auditing compliance;
– Short-term, transient use, including, but not limited to, the contextual customization of ads shown as part of the same interaction;
– Detect security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecuting those responsible for that activity;
Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality;
– Operate, optimize and improve TEPL’s products, services and operations, including, but not limited to, developing new services, managing communications, performing data analytics, and performing training, accounting, auditing and other internal functions;
– Comply with applicable legal requirements, relevant industry standards and TEPL’s internal policies and procedures;
– Detect, investigate, and prevent activities that may violate TEPL’s policies; and
– Use the information in other ways that TEPL describes when you provide the information, or for any other purpose with your express consent.
Information TEPL Shares
TEPL does not rent, sell or otherwise disclose Personal Information that it collects about you, individually or as part of a list, except as described below. TEPL may share your Personal Information with:
– TEPL’s contractors, service providers and other third parties that TEPL uses to support its business and to fulfill services requested or purchased by you, including, but not limited to, credit card processing companies, marketing services providers and consultants, public relations firms, editorial service providers, printers, distributors, and retailers;

Your Rights and Choices
TEPL strives to provide you with choices regarding the Personal Information you provide to it. TEPL has created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

– Reviewing, Updating and Modifying Personal Information. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about you and update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information. However, please note that only you can change or delete tax information, including your TIN, previously provided to TEPL, through your Author Center on the The Ewings Publishing website. TEPL may not accommodate a request to change information if it believes the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
– Do Not Call. If you do not want to receive marketing or sales calls from TEPL, you may request to have your name placed on TEPL’s Do Not Call List. TEPL will process your request and remove your name from its active list within ten (10) business days. You can make this request by sending an email to: donotcall@The Ewings Publishing.com or via mail addressed to: The Ewings Publishing, Attn: Do Not Call List, 201 Rue Bureaugard Ste 202, Lafayette LA 70508. When submitting a request, you must include all the relevant information that you want added to TEPL’s Do Not Call List, including your full name, street address and telephone number(s). Subsequent sign-ups or inquiries to TEPL may lead to the creation of new records; these actions by you may result in inadvertent contact. Returns or Replacement
Printer glitches cannot be avoided. In rare cases, the approved metadata files are not being followed, resulting in misprinting.
To be eligible for a return/replacement, your item must be proven defective of misprinting (for book orders). An investigation will be launched and we will only require you take clear photos of the parts of the book that are being misprinted.
You have 3 calendar days to request for a replacement from the date you received it. If this is approved, a replacement is eligible.
We will be responsible of the shipping fee for the eligible replacement.

Once the order is received, book copies will be printed at the nearest printing facility.
Normal printing duration is 10 business days in the US and 5 business days to all other locations.

Orders received on weekends will be processed on the next business day.
Shipping fees, handling fees, and taxes are shouldered by the buyer.
Book orders are guaranteed to be shipped on the next business day.

Canada – import duties, GST (goods and services taxes), brokerage fees, customs fees, and document preparation fees.
Australia – 10% GST charge for printing and a 10% GST charge for shipping.

– Delivery to most commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous states in the US takes 1 to 6 business days after the shipment date, based on the location of the Ship-To Address.
– Shipments are trackable.

– Delivery to most addresses in the 10 provinces of Canada takes 3 to 7 business days after the shipment date, based on the location of the Ship-To address.

– Delivery to most countries and territories is shipped through the destination country’s mail system.
– Shipment times and reliability vary based on the destination country’s mail system.
– This shipping method, in exchange for lower shipping costs, does not offer damage insurance or shipment tracking to the ultimate recipient.
– When you select this method of international shipment, you waive all liability against The Ewings Publishing or the carrier for damage or loss of the shipment.
