About the Author

My name is Rev. Peter G. Vu, and I have been a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan, for twenty years. I was born in Saigon City (currently Ho Chi Minh City), Viet Nam. I was a young boy when the Viet Nam War ended. I witnessed the war and the end of it with great horror and deep appreciation for peace. I had to grow up with the Communist government system and endured lots of hardship with them for over a decade. What helped me and many of my countrymen tremendously during those dark days was our faith and prayers. Hence, my love for prayers and meditations was able to blossom. Also, I was able to learn and exchange new ideas of prayers and mediations with many of my Buddhist friends. We got along quite well in spite of our different faith traditions.

    1. Introduction
    Welcome to The Ewings Publishing LLC.
    The Ewings Publishing LLC (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates www.theewingspublishing.com (hereinafter referred to as “Service”).

    11. Your Data Protection Rights under the California Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
    CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law’s reach stretches well beyond California to require a person or company in the United States (and conceivable the world) that operates websites collecting personally identifiable information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals with whom it is being shared, and to comply with this policy.
    According to CalOPPA we agree to the following:
    0.1. users can visit our site anonymously;
    0.2. our Privacy Policy link includes the word “Privacy”, and can easily be found on the home page of our website;
    0.3. users will be notified of any privacy policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page;
    0.4. users are able to change their personal information by emailing us at info@theewingspublishing.com.
    Our Policy on “Do Not Track” Signals:

    These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

    We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.

    We may use third-party Service Providers to automate the development process of our Service.

    How TEPL Uses Your Information

    Information TEPL Shares
    TEPL does not rent, sell or otherwise disclose Personal Information that it collects about you, individually or as part of a list, except as described below. TEPL may share your Personal Information with:
    – TEPL’s contractors, service providers and other third parties that TEPL uses to support its business and to fulfill services requested or purchased by you, including, but not limited to, credit card processing companies, marketing services providers and consultants, public relations firms, editorial service providers, printers, distributors, and retailers;
    – To any subsequent owner, co-owner or successor-in-interest; or in connection with a merger, consolidation, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of TEPL’s assets, ownership interest or both, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by TEPL about the Sites’ users is among the assets transferred.     – Google Analytics Display Advertising. TEPL utilizes Google Analytics Display Advertising to remarket to you by displaying TEPL’s ads to you on third party websites. You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads by clicking Ads Settings.
    – Reviewing, Updating and Modifying Personal Information. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about you and update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information. However, please note that only you can change or delete tax information, including your TIN, previously provided to TEPL, through your Author Center on the The Ewings Publishing website. TEPL may not accommodate a request to change information if it believes the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
    – Do Not Call. If you do not want to receive marketing or sales calls from TEPL, you may request to have your name placed on TEPL’s Do Not Call List. TEPL will process your request and remove your name from its active list within ten (10) business days. You can make this request by sending an email to: donotcall@The Ewings Publishing.com or via mail addressed to: The Ewings Publishing, Attn: Do Not Call List, 201 Rue Bureaugard Ste 202, Lafayette LA 70508. When submitting a request, you must include all the relevant information that you want added to TEPL’s Do Not Call List, including your full name, street address and telephone number(s). Subsequent sign-ups or inquiries to TEPL may lead to the creation of new records; these actions by you may result in inadvertent contact. If that is the case, please contact TEPL to reiterate the Do Not Call requests. If your information changes, please notify TEPL of your new name, address, and telephone number(s) so that you will remain on the Do Not Call List.

    Children under the Age of 13
    The Sites are not directed to and should not be used by children under the age of thirteen (13). TEPL does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of thirteen (13) on the Sites.

    The Sites are published in the United States. TEPL attempts to protect the Personal Information of all users of the Sites and to comply with local data protection and consumer rights laws, to the extent such laws may apply to TEPL’s products and services. However, the Sites are located in and operated from the United States, and TEPL’s policies are directed at compliance with the laws of the United States.
